«Eredità» is Lilli Gruber's book of family history and memory, published by Rizzoli in hardcover (354 pages, in Italian).
Lilli Gruber reconstructs, through the diary of her great-grandmother Rosa Tiefenthaler, the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the transfer of South Tyrol to Italy, and the fascist persecutions against those who defended their language and identity. She also recounts how Nazism enveloped the youngest daughter, Hella, and left Rosa between submission or exile.
The full title includes the subtitle «Una storia della mia famiglia tra l'Impero e il fascismo». Eredità was published in 2012.
Work for those interested in twentieth-century European history and family memory narratives with a political backdrop.
Dietlinde "Lilli" Gruber is an Italian journalist and former politician.
