«Erik le Viking» is the fantasy and humor novel by Terry Jones, published by Bragelonne in paperback in 2016 (189 pages, in French).
Erik is not your typical Viking: he sets sail with his companions towards the place where the sun sets and on the way encounters a dragon, a sorceress, giants and dog-men. It is a humorous travel fable that evokes the Icelandic sagas and Norwegian tales, narrated by Terry Jones, member of Monty Python.
Illustrated edition by Boulet. The original work, The Saga of Eric the Viking (1983), won the Red House Children's Book Award in 1984; the French translation is by Isabelle Varange.
Suitable for young adult and adult readers, especially fans of Terry Jones and humorous fantasy with a Viking setting.
Terence Graham Parry Jones was a Welsh actor, comedian, director, historian, writer and member of the Monty Python comedy troupe.
