«Esta es tu Iglesia: Perspectivas desde la fe» is the theology essay by Jesús Álvarez Maestro, published by EDIBESA in paperback (243 pages, in Spanish).
Jesús Álvarez Maestro, an Augustinian Recollect writer, starts from the premise that the Church is a gift from God to humanity and therefore deserves a dignified presentation. The author presents it as Christ himself prolonging his saving work, inseparable from him, offering humanity the Gospel, the mission, the sources of grace, and the apostolic ministry. In simple language and following the teachings of Vatican II and recent popes, the work aims to bridge the gap between children's catechisms and major works of high theology, showing the Church's sanctifying mission over temporal realities.
It belongs to the Vida y Misión collection, number 64. The cover reproduces an old painting of Jesus in the boat with his disciples.
Recommended for those seeking a believing introduction to the Catholic Church from a pastoral and popularizing perspective, without prior theological training.
