«Estat d'excepció» is the novel by Miquel López Crespí, published by Pagès Editors in paperback (218 pages, in Catalan).
Set in January 1969, the narrative opens with an ETA commando assault on the provincial prison of Navarre and with student protests at the University of Barcelona, which led the Franco regime to declare a state of exception. The novel recreates the political tension of those days, between repression and the emergence of armed resistance.
It was published in 2001 in the Lo Marraco collection, number 82. Subtitled «Els anys del desig més ardent».
For readers interested in Catalan narrative and the final years of Francoism.
