«Faillir être flingué» is the western novel by Céline Minard, published by Rivages in paperback (336 pages, in French).
A young indigenous healer travels the prairies of the Far West, tending to settlers and natives alike. Her paths cross with brothers carrying their dying mother, a man saved from smallpox, or an itinerant musician; together they compose an epic about the American West, between the lyrical, the dramatic and the burlesque.
Published in 2013, it won the Prix du Livre Inter 2014. The original text is written in French.
For readers of literary western and contemporary French fiction seeking an original revision of the myth of the Wild West.
