«Fantasia para dois coronéis e uma piscina» is the novel by Mário de Carvalho, published by Porto Editora in paperback (237 pages, in Portuguese).
In the Alentejo, two colonels converse by a swimming pool about Portugal; two women opposed to each other contrast with them. A young dowser and chess player travels roads in his old Renault 4, a misogynist uncle advises his nephew, and singer Soraia Marina livens up the scene. A curious narrator intervenes, observed by an owl and a blackbird.
Work originally published in 2003. This Porto Editora edition is from March 2015. In 2004 it received the Grande Prémio de Literatura ITF/DST and the Prémio PEN Clube Português da Novelística.
