«Faolan le solitaire» is the first novel in the Le royaume des loups saga by Kathryn Lasky, published by Pocket in paperback (198 pages, in French).
Faolan comes into the world with a deformed paw, a flaw his pack cannot tolerate: they abandon him on a desolate hill. A lone she-bear who wanted to be a mother raises him, but when she disappears, the young wolf must survive on his own. Guided by instinct, Faolan seeks his place in a wild world.
The work was originally published in 2010; in English, the saga is titled Wolves of the Beyond.
Recommended for young and teenage readers seeking fantasy featuring animals.
