«Fatima» is the historical novel by Marek Halter, published by France Loisirs in paperback (340 pages, in French).
Fatima, daughter of Muhammad and Khadija, promises her dying mother to watch over her father. She accompanies him on the Hijra of 622 to Yathrib, the future Medina, while the new faith alters the balance among Jews, Christians and polytheists. It shows her grief at Muhammad's marriage to Aisha, her role as Ali's wife and the root of the schism between Sunnis and Shias.
Second installment of the trilogy «Les femmes de l'Islam» by Marek Halter, published in 2015. The series is set in the origins of Islam.
For readers of historical fiction interested in the figure of Fatima and the context of nascent Islam.
