«Félix y Sofía» is the philosophy teaching manual by Matthew Lipman and Gilbert Talbot, published by Ediciones de la Torre in paperback (165 pages).
The book presents an introductory philosophy course based on incidents and conflicts typical of high school, such as sexuality or drug use. With these examples close to 17- and 18-year-olds, the work invites reflection and analysis of relevant topics from a philosophical perspective.
It is part of the Proyecto Didáctico Quirón collection, Philosophy for Children, number 13. It is the first edition, published in 1992.
Aimed at high school students aged 17 and 18 who are beginning philosophy.
Matthew Lipman is recognized as the founder of the contemporary Philosophy for Children movement. His belief that children possess the ability to think abstractly from an early age led him to the conviction that children's education should focus on helping them to improve their reasoning, inquiry, and judgment skills.
