«Finbar's Hotel» is the collaborative novel by Dermot Bolger, Roddy Doyle, Anne Enright, Hugo Hamilton, Jennifer Johnston, Joseph O'Connor and Colm Tóibín.
An old Dublin hotel, about to be demolished, brings together guests and staff who are escaping something: a man in crisis, two sisters stirring up their past, or a cat kidnapper. The seven authors link chapters with humor, and the reader can guess who wrote each one. The novel explores escape, identity and connection.
Dermot Bolger conceived and edited the project. Pan Macmillan published this edition in paperback in 1999, with 288 pages and text in English.
For readers of contemporary literary fiction, especially those interested in Irish narrative and works written by multiple hands.
Dermot Bolger is an Irish novelist, playwright, poet and editor from Dublin, Ireland.
