«Fray Perico de la Mancha» is the children's and young adult novel by Juan Muñoz Martín, published by Ediciones SM in the El Barco de Vapor collection, in paperback (128 pages, in Spanish).
Fray Perico, Calcetín and fray Olegario accompany friar Efrén to his convent in La Mancha, and at a roadside inn they come across a very thin man in gleaming armor, with lance and shield. The story, humorous and adventurous in tone, raises the possibility of meeting Don Quixote two centuries later.
It belongs to the Fray Perico series, where it is the ninth installment according to Goodreads and the eighth according to Amazon; editorially it is part of El Barco de Vapor, Orange Series. The edition is illustrated by Antonio Tello Gil, listed as illustrator in Amazon records. Recommended for ages 8 to 12.
