«Fray Perico y su borrico» is the humorous children's novel by Juan Muñoz Martín, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardcover (121 pages, in Spanish).
The action takes place in an old convent near Salamanca where twenty friars lead an orderly life. The arrival of Fray Perico, a naive and somewhat clumsy friar, accompanied by his donkey, completely disrupts the routine of the place and gives rise to comic and endearing situations.
«Fray Perico y su borrico» is the first installment of the Fray Perico series and belongs to the El Barco de Vapor collection. The work won the El Barco de Vapor Prize in 1979.
Aimed at children aged 7 to 9, as an introductory reading with humor and values such as kindness and honesty.
