«Fray Perico y su borrico» is the humorous children's novel by Juan Muñoz Martín, published by EDICIONES SM in paperback (128 pages, in Spanish).
In the 19th century, a villager named Fray Perico arrives at a convent in Salamanca with his donkey Calcetín. His plain manner and good-natured character disrupt the quiet routine of the twenty friars, devoted to helping others, and turn convent life into a succession of mix-ups and humorous scenes.
First title in the Fray Perico series, part of the El Barco de Vapor Naranja collection. Illustrated by Antonio Tello Gil and winner of the El Barco de Vapor Prize.
Suitable reading for children aged 8 to 12, especially those who enjoy humorous stories, adventures and zany characters.
