«Ganar la guerra, perder la paz» is the historical essay by Jaume Claret, published by Editorial Crítica in hardcover (320 pages, in Spanish).

Jaume Claret reconstructs the figure of General Rafael Latorre Roca from his personal notebooks: military men discontented with the Caudillo, corrupt Administration, exhausted population and a tottering regime. Latorre, an artilleryman, traveler and reader, appears as a cultured military man, far from the Francoist stereotype.

Published in 2019, it bears the subtitle «Memorias del general Latorre Roca», with a prologue by Ángel Viñas and belongs to the Contrastes collection.
