«Gelsomino al país dels mentiders» is the children's book by Gianni Rodari, published by La Galera in hardcover (160 pages, in Catalan).
The protagonist is Gelsomino, a boy with such a powerful voice that he can knock down walls with his shouts. When he arrives in a kingdom where everyone lies, he uses that ability to expose the lies and make the truth prevail again against injustice.
Published in 1992 by La Galera in the collection «Els grumets de mar»; the cover indicates that it is the eighth edition.
Aimed at children and young adults: a fantastic adventure in which a boy uses his voice to expose a world of lies.
Giovanni Francesco "Gianni" Rodari was an Italian writer and journalist, most famous for his works of children's literature, notably Il romanzo di Cipollino. For his lasting contribution as a children's author, he received the biennial Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1970. He is considered Italy's most important 20th-century children's author, and his books have been translated into many languages, though few have been published in English.
