«Grito de guerra» is the war novel by Leon Uris, published by Plaza & Janés in paperback (656 pages, in Spanish).
The novel follows a group of American recruits from different backgrounds who become a marine platoon during World War II. Uris narrates with realism their training and participation in battles such as Guadalcanal and Tarawa, attending to camaraderie and the human cost of combat, with a gaze that does not idealize war.
Work originally published as «Battle Cry»; this Spanish edition is translated from English.
Recommended for readers of historical fiction and war stories seeking a choral narrative about the marines' experience in the Pacific during World War II.
Leon Marcus Uris was an American author of historical fiction who wrote many bestselling books, including Exodus and Trinity.
