In her second-hand bookshop specializing in philosophy, Mitsuko lives with her mother and her son Tarô. Every Friday she works in an exclusive hostess bar to maintain her financial independence. The visit of a female customer with her daughter sparks an immediate connection between the children; that bond threatens the family balance.
