«Hugo y la columna de fuego» is the children's ghost novel by Cornelia Funke, published by Alhambra in paperback (136 pages, in Spanish).
Tom, Hugo and the ghost hunter Hetty Hyssop form an agency to solve cases of apparitions and face a fire specter that lives in the attic of a hotel across from the beach and turns guests into ghosts; perhaps Hugo's viscosity can put it out before everything goes up in smoke.
It belongs to the «Serie Verde» collection and is the second installment of the «Gespensterjäger» series. The translation from German is by Ricardo Casas Fischer, and the original title is «Gespensterjäger im Feuerspuk».
Recommended for readers aged 10 and up, especially for those who enjoy ghost, mystery, and adventure stories.
