«Identity» is the novel by Milan Kundera, published by Faber in paperback (152 pages, in English).
An initial misunderstanding sets off a series of situations that blur the boundary between the real and the imagined. From that premise, Kundera reflects on identity, perception, and relationships.
«Identity» was originally published as «L'identité» in 1997; this English edition, translated by Linda Asher, appeared in 1998.
For readers of contemporary fiction, especially those who enjoy novels of a philosophical and psychological nature.
Milan Kundera was a Czech and French novelist. Kundera went into exile in France in 1975, acquiring citizenship in 1981. His Czechoslovak citizenship was revoked in 1979, but he was granted Czech citizenship in 2019.
