«Ilium» is the science fiction and fantasy novel by Dan Simmons, published by Robert Laffont in paperback (624 pages, in French).
The novel reimagines the Trojan War with the gods of Olympus on Mars, where quantum manipulation acts as divine powers. Hockenberry, a resurrected 20th-century scholar, serves Aphrodite to contrast the real war with Homer's account. The moravecs Mahnmut and Ophu investigate the quantum disturbances emanating from Mars.
First installment of the Ilium series. French translation by Jean-Daniel Brèque. Winner of the Locus Award for Best Science Fiction Novel in 2004.
For fans of space opera and reinterpretations of classical mythology.

Daniel Joseph Simmons was an American science fiction and horror writer. He was the author of the Hyperion Cantos and the Ilium/Olympos cycles, among other works that span the science fiction, horror, and fantasy genres, sometimes within a single novel. Simmons's genre-intermingling Song of Kali (1985) won the World Fantasy Award. He also wrote mysteries and thrillers, some of which feature the continuing character Joe Kurtz.
