Meggie loves books and lives with her father Mo, a bookbinder, who has never read aloud to her since her mother disappeared. When a mysterious stranger knocks at their door, Mo reveals his gift: as he reads, characters from stories come to life and can cross into the real world. Meggie is drawn into an adventure in which she must face the consequences of that magic.
First installment of the Inkworld saga, originally published in German as «Tintenherz» and translated into English by Anthea Bell.
For readers aged 8 to 12 and lovers of fantasy about books and magic.
