«Invasió subtil i altres contes» is a collection of short stories by Pere Calders, published by El Observador in paperback (111 pages, in Catalan).
The short stories by Pere Calders gathered in this book combine humor, irony and a slightly pessimistic view of human behavior. Calders's agile writing, full of linguistic discoveries, mixes imagination and fantasy to make the apparent normality of things seem doubtful.
Published in 1978, it won the Premi Lletra d'Or in 1979. This 1991 edition belongs to Clàssics Catalans del segle XX and includes a preliminary study and teaching material by Joan Martínez Sala.
This edition, with teaching materials, is aimed at the secondary school classroom and at readers of twentieth-century Catalan short fiction.
