Synopsis of Invierno

In the Yaak Valley, Montana, live just thirty people and an undetermined number of wild animals. A remote place where most homes lack basic services such as electricity or telephone. The inhabitants are loggers, trappers, and other characters who have fled something, finding safety in isolation. Rick Bass and his wife are drawn to this reality and decide to rent a house to experience winter to the fullest. Isolated and with little technology, Rick begins to write about his encounter with this white and fierce landscape, recalling stories of adventurers who froze their words in the cold of Yellowstone. This book is a song to the secret of the Great Cold, in a world where winter is increasingly fragile.
