«Jesus, o Bom, e Cristo, o Patife» is the novel by Philip Pullman, published by Teorema in paperback (192 pages, in Portuguese).
Pullman splits the central figure of the Christian myth into twin brothers: Jesus is a preacher of intransigent faith, while Christ invents miracles and composes the narrative on which the power of the Church will be built. The novel tells how they are born and live, and how one of them dies; the death of the other remains outside the story.
Original title: The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ (2009). This Portuguese edition was published in October 2011.
For readers interested in historical and religious fiction and in reinterpretations of the Christian myth.
