«Kafka i la nina que se'n va anar de viatge» is the young adult novel by Jordi Sierra i Fabra published by Estrella Polar in paperback (152 pages, in Catalan).
Set in Berlin in 1923, the novel imagines Franz Kafka's encounter with a girl crying over her lost doll. To comfort her, Kafka assures her that the doll is traveling and that he, as a postman, will bring her a letter every day; the letters, written over three weeks, create a fantasy world that the girl awaits in the park; they never appeared.
The novel belongs to the La Via Làctia collection from Estrella Polar. It won the Premio Nacional de Literatura 2007 and the Premi Protagonista Jove 2008.
For readers aged 12 and up, interested in the figure of Franz Kafka and in young adult fiction.
