«Kafka y la muñeca viajera» is the children's and young adult novel by Jordi Sierra i Fabra, published by Siruela in paperback (152 pages, in Spanish).
A year before his death, Kafka meets a girl in Berlin who has lost her doll. To console her, he tells her the doll has gone on a trip, and for three weeks he sends her letters with the doll's adventures around the world. The novel fictionalizes this real episode, in which literature and imagination ease the pain of loss.
It belongs to the Las Tres Edades collection, number 131, with illustrations by Pep Montserrat. It was awarded the National Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature 2007.
Recommended for readers aged 8 and up, especially for those who appreciate stories about the power of imagination and literature.
