«La aventura del tocador de señoras» is the humorous mystery novel by Eduardo Mendoza, published by Seix Barral in paperback (352 pages, in Spanish).
After leaving the asylum, an unnamed protagonist tries to rebuild his life and ends up working in a hair salon, but a deception forces him to investigate a murder to save himself. Set in Barcelona after the Olympic Games, the novel blends zany humor with a critical look at corruption and crime.
Winner of the Madrid Booksellers' Prize. Third installment in the series of the unnamed detective, following 'El misterio de la cripta embrujada' and 'El laberinto de las aceitunas'.
For readers of contemporary fiction and humor seeking an unconventional detective and a recognizable Barcelona.
