«La bruja Peperina y la fiesta de los niños» is the children's story by Claudia Ondracek and Jan Birck, published by Edaf in hardcover (40 pages, in Spanish).
At the children's party, the witch Peperina must play an evil witch in a play. To avoid scaring anyone, she changes the story: she doesn't lock Hansel in the hut, balloons come out of the oven instead of fire, and the gingerbread of the witch's house is real.
It is step 1 of Edaf's Escalera de Lectura collection (La rana lectora series), with pictograms replacing nouns, short stories, and large print.
For early readers who start reading with pictures replacing some words.
