«La capsa de la Carlota» is a children's story by Beatriz Doumerc, published by Editorial Brúixola in paperback (24 pages, in Catalan).
The story works on the letter «C» and its sounds «ca», «co» and «cu»: the letter appears highlighted in color within the story and, at the end, varied games and activities are included. The cover shows a duck peeking out of a striped box. A playful proposal for the little ones to become familiar with reading stories in Catalan.
It is the seventh title in the collection «El zoo de les lletres», a series of educational books in Catalan from Editorial Brúixola.
Suitable for children from 3 years old, especially recommended for those who are beginning to recognize letters and for use in early childhood education.
Beatriz Doumerc de Barnes was an Argentine writer of children's literature. Her book, La línea, illustrated by her husband, Ayax "Pacho" Barnes, was awarded the Casa de las Américas Prize in 1975.
