La casa

Synopsis of La casa

«La casa» is a fantasy picture book by Daniel Nesquens with illustrations by Mercè López, published by A buen paso in hardcover (56 pages).

A boy and his father enter the old family home after a funeral, a living creature where nothing is as it seems. Father and son must cooperate to avoid dangers like the dining-room carpet, while the story reflects on growing up and finding one's own individuality. The illustrations hide shapes that are revealed by overlaying a red plastic sheet.

Published in 2013, it is part of the Ilustrados collection. The dust jacket opens like a poster showing the house's facade and interior, and includes 14 illustrations.

Recommended for readers aged 10 to 15, especially those who enjoy fantasy picture books and visual games.
