«La chica no olvida» is the poetry collection that won the 1st ESPASAesPOESÍA Prize by Irene X, published by Espasa in hardcover (96 pages, in Spanish).
A work of urban poetry with a feminist voice, made up of poems that work as individual stories: their protagonists transcend the verses to reflect on memory, the human condition and inequalities. Irene X shows a direct style, with a modern and rebellious voice that reconstructs reality through forgetting.
Winner by unanimous decision of the 1st ESPASAesPOESÍA Prize in 2018, the book belongs to the ESPASAesPOESÍA collection. Irene X (Irene Domingo Longares) was born in Zaragoza in 1990; she had previously published works such as «El sexo de la risa», «Grecia» or «No me llores».
Recommended for readers of contemporary poetry looking for a young, urban and vindictive view of the female experience.
