«La Commedia des ratés» is the crime novel by Tonino Benacquista, published by Folio in paperback (233 pages, in French).
Antonio Polsinelli, son of an Italian immigrant, inherits a vineyard in Sora (Italy) after the murder of a friend. The harvest turns out harsh, but the statue of Sant'Angelo in his chapel seems to work a miracle: the wine becomes excellent and crowds flock. The previous owner, an American gangster, demands 25% of the profits.
The work won the Grand Prix de Littérature Policière in 1992 and this edition from the Folio Policier collection was published in 1998.
For crime novel readers who enjoy a plot of humor, irony and Italian setting.
