«La conejita Marcela» is the children's story by Esther Tusquets, published by Lumen Editorial in hardcover (29 pages, in Spanish).
In a meadow, white rabbits and black rabbits live separately, and the former keep the best grass. Marcela, a black rabbit who doesn't fit into her community, runs away and reaches another village where the situation is reversed. Through this fable, the story addresses diversity and prejudice in a way that is close to children.
It was originally published in 1983, and this hardcover edition features illustrations by Wenceslao Masip.
Recommended for children aged 7 to 9, it is suitable for shared reading at home or at school.
Esther Tusquets was a Spanish publisher, novelist and essayist.
