«La fête de la tomate» is the children's picture book by Satomi Ichikawa, published by L'École des Loisirs in paperback (30 pages, in French).
Hana rescues a tomato seedling that no one wants in a supermarket. She protects it from caterpillars, cares for it, and takes it to her grandmother's house for the summer. Her parents doubt her efforts and a typhoon threatens the garden, but the plant survives. In midsummer, Hana harvests cherry tomatoes and invites her whole family to a feast.
For early readers in French and for families seeking stories about nature, patience, and reward.
