Tomás, a tourist in Thailand, contracts a hemorrhagic fever and becomes trapped in a local legend: illnesses are only cured by the death of another. Convalescent, he travels to Nong Khai, by the Mekong River, to deliver an enigmatic message, and on the way he will meet the one destined to fulfill the omen.
