«La hiena de la Puszta» is the novel by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, published by Laertes in hardcover (145 pages, in Spanish).
The story follows Anna Klauer: humiliated by men, the young woman becomes an implacable avenger. The tale combines her social rise with the world of banditry, and from that mix arise intrigues, sorcery and violence. Sacher-Masoch thus explores the link between cruelty and desire that runs through the entire work.
The Spanish translation is by Nicolás Ferrante. The edition corresponds to number 32 of the Laertes collection. «La hiena de la Puszta» was originally published in 1873.
For readers interested in nineteenth-century erotic narrative and the literary roots of masochism.
