«La història de l'Ernest» is a children's book by Mercè Company, published by Cruïlla in paperback (64 pages, in Catalan).
Ernest celebrates five years since his adoption and arrival home. His parents explain to him, once again, why his biological parents could not care for him and that he was conceived with love, answering the questions he asks. That day they give him a kitten that they also adopt; Ernest understands that he is loved and welcomed.
La història de l'Ernest is the fourth title in the El Barco de Vapor Blanca collection, with illustrations by José María Lavarello, and is aimed at readers aged 6 to 8.
Especially useful for families looking for a realistic story to help explain adoption to children.
