«La jument verte» is the satirical novel by Marcel Aymé, published by Folio in paperback (256 pages, in French).
In Claquebue a mare is born with a striking jade-green color, such an unusual event that Jules Haudouin, a farmer and horse dealer, can hardly believe his luck. With irony and satire, Marcel Aymé then portrays village life: greed, hypocrisy and contradictions of the French rural world.
The novel was originally published in 1933. This paperback edition belongs to the Folio collection (no. 817).
For readers of French literature who appreciate social satire and humor.
