«La maleta turca» is a collection of journalistic articles by Quim Monzó, published by Quaderns Crema in paperback (224 pages, in Catalan).
Articles portraying social habits accepted almost automatically and revealing everyday gestures; Monzó observes them with irony and turns them into a critical diagnosis of everyday vulgarity and banality. The collection connects with the Catalan journalistic tradition of Eugeni Xammar, Francesc Trabal and Josep Pla, combining social commentary and literary ambition.
First edition, published in June 1990; number 42 in the Mínima Minor collection, with dimensions of 180 x 120 mm.
For readers of Quim Monzó and for those seeking ironic journalism and social criticism in Catalan.
