In 1568, the Morisco rebellion breaks out in the Alpujarras. Hernando, son of a Morisca woman and a Christian priest, is rejected by both sides. In the conflict he meets Fátima and, after the revolt's defeat, is forced to live in Córdoba, where he defies the laws to restore dignity to his culture and religion.
