In 'La patria de las hormigas', Juan K arrives in a small coastal town hoping to find love, bringing with him his collection of summer shirts. He settles in a peculiar pension, where the owner reminds him of his late wife and a niece with a singular appearance unsettles him. While Juan K experiences a series of amorous failures, in the basement of the pension, ants conspire for a final attack. A jealous indoor plant and a moisture stain on the ceiling add a touch of mystery to this story by the renowned Javier Tomeo.
Javier Tomeo was a Spanish (Aragonese) essayist, dramatist, and novelist.
