«La Santa Compaña» is the historical novel by Lorenzo G. Acebedo, published by Tusquets Editores in paperback (304 pages, in Spanish).
Gonzalo de Berceo, in Santiago de Compostela during the jubilee year, sees an archdeacon die after being struck by the botafumeiro. The archbishop asks him to investigate the events decimating the chapter: visions, witchcraft, and apparitions of the Santa Compaña. The inquiry, between Lope's wine and Lupa's help, reveals a young poet: the future Alfonso X the Wise.
Second installment in the Gonzalo de Berceo series, within the Andanzas collection. Published on June 5, 2024.
For readers of historical fiction and mystery with a medieval setting in Galicia.
