«La vida bajo la tierra» is the children's book by Maria Rius and José María Parramón, published by Círculo de Lectores in paperback (32 pages, in Spanish).
This children's book explains what happens beneath the soil's surface: children and a rabbit observe the earth's layers and discover the animals and plants living in that hidden ecosystem, with full-color illustrations and simple texts.
Published in 1999, the cover retains Parramón's original imprint.
For early readers interested in nature, with adult support in the classroom or at home.
Maria Rius was a Catalan prisoner support activist and anarchist militant. She organised numerous prison escapes during the time of the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera. After the proclamation of the Second Spanish Republic, she stormed a women's prison in Barcelona and agitated for amnesty for political prisoners. She fought on the Aragon front during the Spanish Civil War, before fleeing into exile in France.
