«La Vida En El Mar» is a children's book by María Rius and José María Parramón, published by Parramón in paperback (32 pages, in Spanish).
A small salmon observes different living beings as it swims with the big salmon downstream towards the sea, on a journey that introduces children to the animals and plants that live underwater. The watercolor illustrations show a marine world full of fish and seaweed, and the text combines narration with facts about underwater life.
It belongs to the collection «Primera Biblioteca de los Niños», where images are the main language of the narrative. Recommended from 4 years old.
Designed for children and the adults who accompany them: it gives parents and teachers a starting point to talk about marine animals and ecosystems.

Maria Rius was a Catalan prisoner support activist and anarchist militant. She organised numerous prison escapes during the time of the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera. After the proclamation of the Second Spanish Republic, she stormed a women's prison in Barcelona and agitated for amnesty for political prisoners. She fought on the Aragon front during the Spanish Civil War, before fleeing into exile in France.
