«La vida és així, Lili» is the young adult novel by Valérie Dayre, published by Cruïlla in paperback (136 pages, in Catalan).
Lili, twelve years old, travels with her parents on a hot day full of traffic jams. At a service area she sees someone abandon a dog and, suddenly, she is left alone: her parents have driven on without her. In her diary she tells how she survives, reflects on what is happening to her and forces herself to grow up, although there is something in the whole story that does not fit.
Collection «Cartes i diaris». Translation by Lluïsa Moreno Llort. Winner of the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis in 2006.
Aimed at young readers aged 13 and up, especially those looking for a realistic novel narrated as a diary.
