«Las brigadas internacionales» is the historical essay by César Vidal, published by Espasa in hardcover (656 pages, in Spanish).
The book analyzes the trajectory of the International Brigades in the Spanish Civil War and the conflicting interpretations it provoked: for some, Stalin's hand over Spain; for others, a gesture of solidarity against fascism. César Vidal provides unpublished documentation from Soviet archives and Stanley G. Payne signs the prologue.
Third expanded and updated edition, published on May 16, 2006. Volume 1 of the Espasa Forum collection. Includes index and bibliography (pages 605-651).
Aimed at fans of Spanish history and readers interested in the Civil War and literature on the conflict.
César Vidal Manzanares is a Spanish historian, author, political commentator, and radio host.
