«Las orejas de los saltamontes» is the children's novel by Unai Elorriaga, published by Santillana Educación, S.L. in paperback (120 pages, in Spanish).
During a summer with his aunt and uncle, Tomás finds comfort in small routines: making coffee with milk, the stories of his aitite Julián, and games with his cousin Inés. Though his dream is to travel to Madagascar with his father, the novel shows illness and loss through a child's eyes.
Las orejas de los saltamontes is Unai Elorriaga's first children's book, translated from Basque by the author himself and published in the Orange Series (+10).
Recommended for young readers aged 10 and up, interested in family stories that sensitively address illness and loss.
