«Las personas del verbo» is the poetry collection by Jaime Gil de Biedma, published by Lumen in hardcover (184 pages, in Spanish).
It brings together, ordered and corrected by the author, poems from his early works, in a classic of twentieth-century Spanish poetry. His poetry addresses identity, memory, the passage of time and the experience of love, with rigor, lucidity and hedonism. It closes with the «Poemas a Carlos Barral», dedicated to the editor and friend of the author.
This edition includes a prologue by Carme Riera and corresponds to the third edition at Lumen, from 2001.
It will appeal to readers of contemporary Spanish poetry and to those who want to discover one of the voices of the poetic group of the 1950s.
Jaime Gil de Biedma y Alba was a Spanish post-Civil War poet.
