Las Ramblas terminan en el mar is a novel by the Spanish writer José Luis de Vilallonga, published in 1984. The story takes place in Barcelona in the 1940s and follows Rafael Puerto Real, a young aristocrat who becomes involved in meetings of opponents of the Franco regime. At one of these meetings, Rafael meets Favila Olavarría, a guerrilla fighter living in hiding in France, and falls in love with his daughter, Fernanda. Through his relationship with the Olavarría family, Rafael becomes involved in the fight against the regime, using his surname and connections to help free Fernanda's brother, who is imprisoned under a false name. However, his actions do not go unnoticed by the police, who begin to use Fernanda's brother as bait.
