«L'avi de l'Osset» is the children's story written by Nigel Gray and illustrated by Vanessa Cabban, published by Estrella Polar in paperback (in Catalan).
The little bear loves Fridays because he goes to his grandfather's house: they have a snack together and climb up to the tree house, where Grandad tells him stories of his youth. Everything changes when Grandad is admitted to the hospital; then the little bear finds a way to return his affection by telling him a story.
The Catalan edition was published in 2003 in the La Lluna Màgica collection; the original title of the work is Little Bear's Grandad.
Suitable for early readers and useful for gently addressing the loss of a loved one with young children.
Nigel Gray is a Northern Irish-born Australian author of books for both children and adults.
